Why this beats a free practice PDF

Free model tests hand you questions. They don't grade your writing, score your speaking, or tell you what to fix next.

Format-faithful mock exams — the real sections, item counts and timers.

AI-scored writing and speaking against the exam rubric — feedback you can act on, not just an answer key.

A study plan built backward from your exam date, ramping up as it nears.

Adaptive targeting — your first mock is a diagnostic that points you straight at your weak spots.

Is B1 enough for residency or citizenship?

For German citizenship and Austrian long-term residence and citizenship, B1 is the binding German level today. Recognition follows the CEFR level, not the provider — DTZ, ÖIF B1, Goethe B1 and telc B1 are all accepted as the language proof. Always check the official rules for your own case.

Common B1 exam questions

Is there a free B1 sample test?
Yes. Start with a free B1 sample test to see the format and where you stand, then unlock full timed mock exams and AI scoring with a €19 pack.
What's on the German B1 exam?
Four parts: listening (Hören), reading (Lesen), writing (Schreiben) and speaking (Sprechen). The DTZ and ÖIF B1 include a letter-writing task and a paired speaking task; the Austrian ÖIF exam also adds a values (Werte) module.
DTZ, ÖIF or Goethe/telc B1 — which do I need?
For Germany, the DTZ is the integration-course exam; for Austria, the ÖIF Integrationsprüfung B1 (with Werte). A Goethe or telc B1 certificate is accepted in both countries. The deciding factor is the B1 level, not the provider.
How much does the exam cost?
The official exam runs roughly €160–€270, and a re-sit costs it again (the Austrian Integrationsprüfung is €176 per attempt). A €19 prep pack is cheap insurance against paying twice.
Are these official exams?
No. Deutsch30 is independent prep — not affiliated with or endorsed by the Goethe-Institut, telc, ÖSD, ÖIF or BAMF. AI scores are practice feedback, not certified results. Book the real exam through an official provider.
